Anogeia tour – Where the bike meets the nature – Experienced difficulty

A trip by e-bike to the mountain village of Anogeia is a pleasant combination of coastal atmosphere and the Cretan mountains. The route starts in the center of Heraklion, from where we gradually leave the bustle of the city and gently climb through a landscape full of olive trees. As the altitude increases, beautiful views open up of the surrounding valleys and the Psiloritis mountain range.

Upon arrival in Anogeia, an authentic Cretan atmosphere awaits us, with narrow streets and small cafés ideal for a short break, as well as the option to visit a traditional carpet workshop. The trip also includes lunch in a local taverna, where you can taste real Cretan cuisine. The way back is more enjoyable thanks to the longer descent, allowing us to take in the surrounding nature and enjoy a relaxed ride. The entire loop is roughly 80 km long and offers a great experience of Crete’s interior.
